"De Brinkhof" at Amaliapark, in the center of Apeldoorn.
On Nov. 27, 2020, Grehamer & Company was pleased to add The Brinkhof to its portfolio. The property dates from 1977 and has a rich history.

The cold war in 1989 was characterized by constant threats in Western Europe. In the Netherlands, to deal with this threat, the Civilian Population Protection Act was created. Citizens would be prepared for bombing by this "B.B." law.
De Brinkhof, built in 1977, is set up for this B.B. law. The building's bomb shelter has a special climate control system, generators, squat toilets and water basin that should allow 7,000 people to survive a nuclear conflict. One of the few visible elements from this era is the vent pipe found at the corner of Rustenburg Street and Helfrich Street.

With 65 residences, six office spaces and 17 stores, the property was to function as a place to live, work, store and congregate. The pub La Cave and later Paddock in the basement of The Brinkhof was a meeting place for many young people.

Now there is no more dancing, work and almost no more shopping in The Brinkhof. Only the Persian Carpet House remains. The property will in the future function as one of the most beautiful places to live: in the center of Apeldoorn and with the Veluwe in the backyard.

The Brinkhof will be transformed into 167 homes, ranging in living spaces; studios, lofts, two- three- or four-bedroom apartments. The ground-floor residences will have their own outdoor space, while the upper-floor residences will almost all have a (French) balcony in the future.
